Bartlett daze
The Bartlett days fair was this weekend. Small town streetfest. It was at the big park here, not too many fun rides like in the past, but it was a good day.The weather was good, the food was expensive, and the few bands I heard were not too bad. There were more show cars here than in the past, and the BBQ contest had a few more enters than last year. Why weren't there more Chevelles ? Had quite a few Mustangs, both old and the new ones. The usual crowd of locals roaming around for the free hand outs. You could tell it is election time, the local politos were out shaking babies and kissing hands. After the fun, my son and I went for a hike with a few of the cubs scouts from our troop. That wore us all out. It's popcorn time for the scouts, so if a scout asks for your help, do it. Ranting on, need to stop while I am a head. As someone along time ago said, Vote early and vote often!!!

Don't Panic!!!
It has been a long day, my son and I walked up to the movies about a mile from the house, should do this more often. Finally saw the new Indiana Jones movie. Wasn't bad.
Found out that one of the forums I read lost a member. It is weird, I didn't know the young man personally, but learned a lot from his contributions. He will be missed. Seems the longer that I roam this globe more people that help me thru this journey go on before me. Soon there won't be many friends to help me get on to the next journey.
Jake Miller will be missed by many who never met him. I know that he was a great skateboarder. Bright stars seem to burn out too quickly. God bless him and his loved ones. That is all I want to say about that. No funny taglines tonite, just hold on to your loved ones as long as you can.

Loud nite on Beale St.
Well, I survived the concert last nite with the girls. My two teens talked me into taking them. I don't know but I feel energized. Nothing like live music to cure the dulldrums. The place was an old theater that was changed into a concert venue, and other events are held there. It was a nite of loud screamo, hard rock and some band that I think would be called a mix between a mild Zappa and a bland version of Oingo Boingo. What a way to spend a Sunday nite. I had a great time, even when my 17 year old decided to go stage diving. A chip off the ole block. Yes, my wife did not think it was as cool as I thought it was....I noticed a few dad's there, guess I'm not the only one that doesn't want their teens down on Beale by themselves. Hopefully a few bands I like will play there. Rob and Ratdog have played there a few times. That is more my speed...Remember, if it too loud you're too old...
